Remembered as a Night to Forget: Deputies Respond to Wedding Mishap in 2022
There are moments in life that are meant to be cherished forever. Unfortunately, for Holliann Tran, her wedding night turned into a nightmare that she will never truly forget.
In November 2022, Holliann and her husband were celebrating their union at Wrangler’s Roost in New River, surrounded by loved ones. However, their joyous occasion was marred by the presence of Maricopa County Sheriff’s Deputies, who were responding to noise complaints because the venue was not authorized to host events.
Despite paying a considerable sum to have their wedding at Wrangler’s Roost, Holliann was unaware of the zoning issues and the cease and desist notice served to the venue by the county.
Body camera footage from that night captured the emotional turmoil as deputies approached the bride to inform her of the noise complaints. They requested the music to be turned off, leading to a heartbreaking moment for Holliann.
Despite pleas from the bride’s family and confusion about the contractual agreement with the venue, the deputies remained firm in their decision. The festivities were abruptly halted, leaving Holliann and her guests devastated.
While the night ended prematurely, the repercussions extended beyond that moment. Wrangler’s Roost faced legal action from Maricopa County for repeated violations of zoning laws and noise complaints over the years.
Through a series of investigations, it was revealed that the venue had been operating unlawfully, leading to fines and penalties amounting to over $100,000. However, a recent settlement agreement aimed to rectify the situation by imposing strict conditions on the venue owners to comply with regulations.
For Holliann, the bittersweet resolution brought some closure to the ordeal. As she reflected on her disrupted wedding day, she expressed gratitude for the county’s intervention and hoped that such incidents would not be repeated.
