Winter is on its Way: Arizona Snowbowl Sees First Snowfall of the Season
As Arizona’s scorching summer begins to wind down, there’s a glimmer of hope in the form of snowfall at Arizona Snowbowl near Flagstaff. The sight of snow on Saturday serves as a reminder that cooler temperatures are just around the corner.
Despite record-breaking heat in the Valley this summer, with temperatures soaring above 100 degrees for an extended period, there is relief in knowing that winter is on its way. The upcoming week may even bring a new record for consecutive days with temperatures exceeding 110 degrees.
Arizona Snowbowl, located at an elevation of 11,500 feet, received a light dusting of snow over the weekend. Workers were quick to clear the snow from the decks, leaving behind picturesque scenes that were shared on social media.
Just 82 days remain until the scheduled opening date for skiing and snowboarding at Snowbowl on Nov. 21. This comes on the heels of Snowbowl’s longest winter season to date, stretching into June due to an impressive snowfall accumulation last winter.
