Gage Garrison Pleads Guilty to Aggravated Assault in East Valley Teen Violence Case
Violence among teenagers is a growing concern in communities across the country, and in Mesa, Arizona, one suspect has taken responsibility for his actions. Gage Garrison, a 19-year-old individual, recently pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated assault in relation to separate incidents involving teenage victims in the East Valley.
The first incident, which led to Garrison’s arrest on January 24, occurred at a parking garage near Vaughn Avenue on December 3, 2022. In a separate case, Garrison and another suspect, Cody Kostoryz, 18, were part of a group of teens who were involved in an assault on a teenage victim at a party on December 17, 2022.
Court records revealed that the group of suspects entered the party uninvited and proceeded to assault the victim, using brass knuckles during the attack. The victim, who was targeted for standing up for a friend at school, was restrained by the party crashers as they took turns physically assaulting him.
Despite attempts by other party guests to intervene, the suspects fled the scene after the assault. Garrison’s association with a group known as the “Gilbert Goons” has also tied him to other teen violence investigations in the area.
Sentencing for Gage Garrison is scheduled for September 26, as the community seeks accountability and justice for the victims of these violent incidents.
