Support Phoenix Police Officers Injured in Line of Duty

Two brave Phoenix police officers are currently in the hospital after being shot while responding to a call about an attempted car break-in. One officer is in stable condition, while the other remains in critical condition.

If you’re looking for a way to show your support, the Phoenix Police Department has provided a way for the community to donate directly to the officers and their families. You can visit the PLEA Charities website to make a donation. The department ensures that 100% of the donations go directly to the officers and their families, covering all administrative costs or fees.

When donating, please remember to include “critical Phoenix incident” in the space for the officer’s name as their names have not yet been released.

Background of the Incident

The shooting suspect, Saul Bal, 41, has a history of prior convictions, including drug-related offenses and attempted burglary. Bal has now been charged with two counts of attempted murder in connection with the shooting of the officers.

According to Arizona Department of Correction records, Bal had recently been on supervised release, with his sentence set to end just days after the shooting took place. He is currently being held on a $2 million cash-only bond.

Phoenix Police Chief Mike Sullivan described the incident as a “terrible night” for the department and the community, emphasizing the importance of support for the injured officers.
