Have you received a text message asking you to pay a traffic violation fine? Be cautious, as the Phoenix Police Department has issued a warning about an ongoing scam targeting Phoenix residents.
The scam messages are designed to look like they are sent from the City of Phoenix, informing recipients about an outstanding speeding ticket. The messages urge recipients to make a payment on a fake website to avoid appearing in court.
However, Phoenix police advise recipients to ignore these messages and delete them immediately. The Phoenix Municipal Court does not seek payment through email or text messages. To verify any outstanding traffic violations, residents can contact the Phoenix court at 602-262-6421.
Stay informed and stay safe. Remember, it’s always better to verify before making any payments based on unsolicited messages.
