Linda Ronstadt Criticizes Trump Rally in Tucson
The Arizona-born singer, Linda Ronstadt, recently took to Instagram to express her strong disapproval of the upcoming Trump rally at the iconic Linda Ronstadt Music Hall in her hometown of Tucson.
In her Instagram statement released on Wednesday, Ronstadt didn’t hold back in criticizing Former President Donald Trump’s decision to hold a rally at the venue that bears her name. She expressed deep sadness at the prospect of the former President bringing what she referred to as his “hate show” to Tucson, a town with rich Mexican-American roots and a culture of tolerance.
Born and raised in Tucson, Ronstadt felt compelled to speak out against Trump’s divisive politics, which she described as toxic and hateful towards women, immigrants, and people of color. She also condemned the Trump administration’s border policies, particularly the inhumane practice of family separation that she deemed a humanitarian catastrophe.
“There is no forgiving or forgetting the heartbreak he caused,” Ronstadt stated emphatically in her Instagram post.
As a vocal advocate for social justice, Ronstadt joins a growing list of female celebrities who have been using their platforms to urge people to vote and stand up for their beliefs. With Taylor Swift’s recent endorsement making headlines, Ronstadt’s condemnation of Trump’s rally adds to the chorus of voices calling for change.
This upcoming rally in Tucson marks the second time in less than a month that Trump will be speaking in Arizona. The event is expected to focus on economic issues and the rising cost of housing, with doors opening at 11 a.m. and Trump scheduled to speak at 2 p.m.
