Man Arrested for Impersonating Firefighter in Yavapai County

Recently, a man was arrested in Yavapai County for impersonating a firefighter and causing panic by instructing residents in Congress to evacuate their homes. The individual, who had been let go from the Yarnell Fire District, was falsely claiming to be a firefighter and providing incorrect information about evacuations during the Hillside Fire in the rural area north of Congress.

According to the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect, identified as Patrick Parent, was caught on doorbell video footage telling residents he was with the “fire department.” After being alerted about the situation, deputies tracked down Parent and found firefighting gear in his vehicle. He was taken into custody and could be facing charges of impersonating a public servant, causing a criminal nuisance, and disorderly conduct.
