The Heartbreaking Disappearance of Liliana Munguia
Liliana Munguia was last seen on August 5th after flying to Des Moines to meet an older man she had met online.
A desperate father from Arizona is now reaching out to the public for help in finding his daughter. Liliana, 17, was caught on home security footage leaving her family’s house in the Gila River Indian Community in the early hours of August 5th.
After purchasing a flight from Mesa to Des Moines, authorities believe she was planning to meet an older man. “I worry about not being able to see her grow into the beautiful daughter, the beautiful woman that she’s becoming, that everyone is so proud of,” expressed Juan Munguia, Liliana’s father.
The FBI has issued an alert seeking the public’s assistance in locating Munguia. Juan struggles to put into words how much he and his family miss his daughter. “We’re concerned that she might be in danger. We’re worried that it’s raining. We’re worried she has nowhere to sleep tonight. I’m worried she’s not eating. I’m worried she might not even be aware of this news about her,” a saddened Juan shared.
“We love her very much and truly want her to come home”
As soon as Juan discovered she was in Iowa, he packed up and headed there, frantically searching for her on foot. “I’m afraid she doesn’t have a phone, or a device with her, and has no way to communicate with us,” Juan mentioned with concern.
“I really wish I had the opportunity to sit down with her and have an honest conversation. I’d like to be able to sit beside her and tell her how much I love her.”
Juan described Lily’s aspiration to become a teacher, highlighting her caring nature and passion for helping others. Lily stands at 5’2″ with long black hair, brown eyes, and a mole on the left side of her neck. When last seen, she was wearing a pink sleeveless shirt and black and maroon Deadpool-themed pajama pants.
While law enforcement agencies continue their search for Lily, Juan has a message for her. “We all support her and want her back. It’s dangerous, but we love her so much and want her to return home,” Juan pleaded.
If you have any information about Liliana Munguia or her whereabouts, please contact the local FBI office in Phoenix at 623-466-1999. You can also submit a tip or message online on the FBI’s website.
