Man Sentenced to 7 Years for Smuggling Drugs into Bermuda
In a shocking turn of events, a U.S. man has been sentenced to seven years in prison for smuggling more than $1 million worth of marijuana, cocaine, and heroin into Bermuda. The accused, hailing from Arizona, claimed he was coerced into transporting the drugs, which were discovered by authorities upon his arrival in the affluent archipelago in November 2022.
Officials found a whopping 18 pounds of marijuana, two pounds of cocaine, and one ounce of heroin in a suitcase carried by the suspect. According to a report by The Royal Gazette newspaper, the accused stated that he was given the suitcase by someone else and was instructed to deliver it to another individual upon reaching his hotel in Bermuda.
