Recently, a shocking incident took place at the Pima County Adult Detention Center in Arizona. A corrections officer by the name of C.O. Ayden Escarrega was taken into custody for allegedly assaulting an inmate on Saturday, Aug. 31. The inmate had displayed uncooperative behavior after being booked into the facility, prompting Escarrega to resort to violence.
Reports indicate that Escarrega repeatedly struck the inmate in the face, resulting in minor injuries. In response to the incident, robbery and assault detectives conducted a thorough investigation, leading to Escarrega’s arrest on Sept. 4. He is now facing an aggravated assault charge.
Following the incident, Escarrega has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation. The Pima County Sheriff’s Office is diligently working to ensure justice is served in this case.
