Brush Fire Near Black Canyon City Causes Concern for Labor Day Weekend Travelers
As Labor Day weekend approaches, travelers heading out of the Valley to northern Arizona are facing an additional challenge – a brush fire burning just north of Black Canyon City. The fire is located near Bumble Bee Road and is currently being fought by crews from Daisy Mountain Fire & Medical.
According to a post on their Facebook page, crews are struggling to reach the fire due to access issues but are actively monitoring the situation. The Bureau of Land Management has also dispatched resources to assist in fighting the fire.
Drivers should be aware that the fire may cause delays in the area. The department is urging everyone to drive safely and exercise caution while passing through the affected area. This incident comes on the heels of a previous traffic backup caused by a disabled vehicle on I-17, stretching from Black Canyon City into Anthem.
As of now, the size and cause of the fire have not been disclosed. This is a developing story and more details will be provided as they become available.
