Heavy Traffic Delays Between Flagstaff and Phoenix
Are you stuck in traffic on I-17 between Flagstaff and Phoenix due to Labor Day travel? According to the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT), heavy traffic delays are currently being reported in the southbound lanes from south of Camp Verde at milepost 275 and through Black Canyon City at milepost 240. Additionally, officials are noting heavy slowing on westbound State Route 260 east of Payson.
If you’re traveling back to the Phoenix metro area and points south, be prepared for longer-than-normal travel times. ADOT officials recommend packing a travel kit that includes extra water, snacks, a fully-charged cell phone and charger, and any prescription medications you may need.
