Temporary Road Closure on Broadway Road in Tempe, Arizona
If you’re planning to drive on Broadway Road in Tempe this weekend, you might want to reconsider your route. The Arizona Department of Transportation has announced a temporary closure of a section of Broadway Road between 48th and 55th streets from Aug. 23 at 8 p.m. to Aug. 26 at 4 a.m.
This closure is necessary due to a traffic shift in the area. In addition to Broadway Road, 52nd Street at Broadway Road will also be closed in both directions during this time frame.
For westbound drivers looking to navigate around the closure, ADOT suggests taking Priest Drive to University Drive to 40th Street and then back onto Broadway Road. Eastbound drivers can use the detour of 48th Street to Southern Avenue to Priest Drive and then back onto Broadway Road.
It’s important to note that the ramps at Interstate 10 and Broadway Road will also be closed during this time, so plan your journey accordingly.
