Shining Light on Solar Scams: Arizona Man Indicted for Fraud
Are you considering going green with solar energy? Beware of shady operators like Daniel Ridlinghafer, the owner of Tucson Solar Pros, who has left a trail of unfinished projects and defrauded customers and credit unions in Arizona.
Ridlinghafer, 37, faces charges of fraud for abandoning solar panel installations after receiving payments, leaving homeowners in the dark. According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office of Arizona, he scammed up to 25 homeowners, amounting to a total alleged fraud of $695,000.
His modus operandi involved securing loans from victims’ credit unions, only to bolt once the money was in hand, leaving customers and financial institutions high and dry.
Prior to his indictment, Ridlinghafer was embroiled in legal battles, with allegations of unpaid supplies and a revoked contractor’s license, highlighting a pattern of deceit and negligence.
Justice may catch up with this solar scammer, as conviction could mean a substantial prison term and hefty fine. It’s a cautionary tale for anyone considering solar installations.
