Welcome to the battleground state of Arizona, where Vice President Kamala Harris is set to make her second campaign visit in just two months. This visit comes at a crucial time, with early ballots being mailed to voters statewide in just 12 days.
This week, Harris is embarking on a three-state swing through key states: Pennsylvania, Arizona, and then Nevada. The location for the Arizona visit has not yet been announced.
In August, Harris drew a massive crowd of 15,000 people at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, marking the largest Democratic event in Arizona in at least 20 years. This momentum has carried through, with Harris continuing her campaign efforts in important swing states.
Last week, Harris visited the so-called “Blue Wall” states – Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Georgia. Winning these states would provide her with the electoral college votes needed to secure the White House.
According to the Harris campaign, the diverse travel schedule reflects the various paths to 270 electoral votes available to Vice President Harris, including both “Blue Wall” and Sun Belt states.
Meanwhile, Republican Donald Trump’s campaign is also active in the Blue Wall states, with scheduled events in Indiana, Pa., and Michigan this week. Despite holding fewer rallies this year compared to previous campaigns, Trump remains a formidable opponent in the race.
Recent polls show a close battle in Arizona, a state that Biden won by a slim margin in 2020. Early ballots will soon be mailed to Arizona voters, signaling the importance of these campaign visits in the final stretch before the election.
