Arrest Made in Pima County Animal Cruelty Case After Horse Found Starving
In a disturbing case of animal cruelty, two men, Favian Dominguez, 38, and Valentin Dominguez, 38, have been arrested in Pima County after a neglected horse was found starving in Tucson.
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department revealed that the “severely neglected horse” was discovered on September 19 by detectives with the Arson/Auto Theft Unit. The horse was found in an area known as the “dog patch” near E Valencia Road and S Nogales Road. Detectives noticed that the horse was “exhibiting signs of severe malnutrition” and needed immediate intervention.
The sheriff’s department’s Community Problems Unit stepped in, obtaining a search warrant that allowed investigators to safely transport the horse to a local rescue facility where it will receive the necessary care and rehabilitation.
The animal cruelty investigation is ongoing as both suspects face charges for their neglectful actions.
