The Mystery of Eye Injuries at Donald Trump’s Tucson Rally
Last week, attendees of Donald Trump’s rally in Tucson reported experiencing severe eye pain after the event.
In an exclusive report by News 4 Tucson investigators, six people who were seated on stage behind the former president during the rally shared their accounts. Three of them agreed to on-camera interviews.
All individuals interviewed experienced eye irritation and sought medical attention. One of them, Mayra Rodriguez, a former Planned Parenthood director turned pro-life advocate, described her ironic experience of sitting behind both Trump and Hillary Clinton at separate events.
Rodriguez recounted feeling eye pain immediately after leaving the rally, initially attributing it to allergies. However, her symptoms worsened, prompting a visit to the emergency room where medical staff suspected she had been exposed to a harmful substance.
Despite doctors being unable to pinpoint the exact cause of her injuries, Rodriguez’s vision began improving after a few days, indicating a temporary rather than permanent impairment.
Other rally attendees near Rodriguez also reported similar eye injuries, with one individual describing their eyes turning “red as hell” and experiencing intense pain.
While Rodriguez reported her experience to the Trump campaign, they responded with a statement affirming their commitment to investigating and supporting rally attendees affected by the incident.
The US Secret Service stated they were unaware of the situation but assured there was no known threat to the former president. News 4 Tucson investigators will continue to follow up on developments related to the eye injuries at Trump’s Tucson rally.
