Exciting news for the Northern Arizona University marching band! During halftime of the school’s first football game of the year, they were surprised with an incredible announcement. They have been selected to represent Arizona in the 99th edition of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in 2025.
The Lumberjack Marching Band was chosen from over 100 applicants to be one of the 10 marching bands in the parade. This prestigious opportunity was met with enthusiasm from band director Brent Levine, who called it “a dream come true.” The band will bring their Arizona flair to the parade, showcasing their talent and representing the state on a national stage.
During their surprise announcement, the band received a $10,000 check to support their fundraising efforts for the trip. This will be the first time ever that NAU has participated in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, making it a historic moment for the university and the band.
Mark your calendars for November 27, 2025, to watch the NAU marching band in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. And in other exciting news, NAU also won their football game that day with a score of 66-6 over Lincoln.
