Arizona Police Association Endorses Ruben Gallego for US Senate
The Arizona Police Association, the largest public safety association in the state representing thousands of active law enforcement officers, announced on Monday their endorsement of Democrat Ruben Gallego for US Senate. This endorsement deals a blow to Kari Lake’s campaign, as Gallego receives support from a key law enforcement organization.
The association praised Congressman Gallego for his advocacy for increased funding for law enforcement, securing over $168 billion in direct support for police officers. They highlighted his understanding of the complexities of modern policing in American society, particularly citing his military experience as a Marine combat veteran.
Arizona Police Association President Justin Harris stated, “The APA does not take our endorsements lightly; we recognize the importance of having a U.S. Senator that can bring people together to improve society for all. We believe Congressman Gallego will be that U.S. Senator.”
In addition to endorsing Gallego for US Senate, the Arizona Police Association also endorsed Rachel Mitchell for county attorney and Jerry Sheridan for county sheriff.
On the other hand, Kari Lake, who is also running for US Senate, has received endorsements from the Arizona Law Enforcement Association and the Arizona Conference of Police and Sheriffs, as well as former President Donald Trump.
