Increased Reward Offered in Cold Case Homicide
Two years have passed since the tragic shooting deaths of cousins, Robert Puentes and Xavier Martinez, at a house party in Phoenix. Despite the time that has gone by, their family is still seeking closure and justice for their loved ones. To encourage anyone with information to come forward, a family friend has donated an additional $10,000 to the Silent Witness program, bringing the total reward for information leading to an arrest to $12,000.
On what would have been Robert Puentes’s 23rd birthday, Silent Witness announced the increased reward in hopes of generating new leads in the case. Puentes’s sister, Xena Shikenjanski, expressed her grief over not being able to celebrate her brother’s birthday and the pain of not knowing why their boys were taken from them in such a senseless act of violence.
According to Shikenjanski, there were numerous people present at the party where the shooting occurred, but no one has come forward as a witness. She believes that fear of retaliation or being labeled a “snitch” may be preventing individuals from sharing what they know. However, she urges anyone with information to submit tips anonymously through the Silent Witness website.
Despite the lack of cooperation from witnesses, the family remains steadfast in their pursuit of justice. Shikenjanski wants those responsible for her brother and cousin’s deaths to be found and brought to justice, emphasizing that their family will not give up their search for answers.
If you have any information about the events that transpired at the party on the night of August 28, 2022, please contact Silent Witness at 480-Witness. Your tip could help bring closure to a grieving family and ensure that those responsible are held accountable for their actions.
