Welcome to our blog where we share inspiring stories of bravery and leadership in law enforcement! Today, we are thrilled to talk about Chief Brian Issit, a dedicated officer with 22 years of experience in the Phoenix Police Department.
Chief Issit recently took on a new role as the police chief of Goodyear, bringing his wealth of knowledge and expertise to the community. His remarkable journey includes overseeing the Desert Horizon Precinct, where he faced a challenging situation when Officer Tyler Moldovan was shot eight times and miraculously survived.
During a ceremony at Chase Field, Chief Issit presented Officer Moldovan with his official police badge, symbolizing resilience and strength in the face of adversity. Reflecting on this experience, Chief Issit shared, “Nothing prepares you as a leader for having an officer of yours that’s shot. Really, mortally wounded.”
His exceptional leadership and commitment to public safety caught the attention of Goodyear city officials, who appointed him as the new police chief. Goodyear City Manager Wynette Reed praised Chief Issit for his dedication and perspective, stating, “He is a police officer who has been through the good and the bad while protecting the public, which will give him great perspective in this leadership role.”
As Chief Issit embarks on this new chapter in his career, we applaud his bravery and dedication to serving and protecting the community. We look forward to seeing the positive impact he will bring to Goodyear as he continues to uphold the values of integrity and excellence in law enforcement.
