Tragedy Strikes in the Grand Canyon: Man Dies After Boat Flips in the Colorado River
An unfortunate incident unfolded in the majestic Grand Canyon as an elderly man lost his life during a boating trip on the Colorado River. National Park Service officials have confirmed the heartbreaking news.
It was around 3:40 p.m. on Sunday when park rangers received a distress call from a commercial river trip near Fossil Rapid. The call reported that an 80-year-old man had fallen into the river after his boat flipped.
Despite the best efforts of both fellow group members and park rangers who swiftly arrived at the scene, CPR attempts proved unsuccessful in reviving the man. The tragic outcome was confirmed by park officials.
The Coconino County Medical Examiner has been called in to assist with the investigation, but an official cause of death is yet to be determined and released to the public.
Authorities have chosen not to disclose the identity of the deceased individual at this time.
