The Tragic Death of Denise Prudhomme at Wells Fargo: A Call for Transparency and Support
Authorities have identified the woman who tragically lost her life while at work as 60-year-old Denise Prudhomme.
TEMPE, Ariz. — An investigation is underway in Tempe after a Wells Fargo employee passed away while on the job. The discovery of the body inside the Wells Fargo corporate office has left many shaken, with one worker expressing concern over the lack of checks on employees’ well-being.
“It’s really heartbreaking, and I’m thinking, ‘What if I were just sitting there?’ No one would check on me?” a worker said.
An associate, who spoke with 12News anonymously, shared that the situation is troubling. “Her boss had emailed her, didn’t receive a response, so they went to check where she sits, and that’s how they found the body,” the worker revealed.
Tempe police confirmed that on Aug. 20, building security discovered the unresponsive worker. Officers arrived and unfortunately confirmed the death of Denise Prudhomme.
“To hear she’s been sitting at the desk like that would make me feel sick. And nobody did anything. That’s how she spent her last moments,” the worker lamented.
While authorities have stated that there’s nothing suspicious about the death, many details, including the cause and time of death, remain unconfirmed. The lack of information from the bank has left employees frustrated.
A Wells Fargo spokesperson released a statement expressing condolences to the family of the deceased and highlighting the support available to employees during this difficult time.
The employee, however, believes that more transparency is needed from Wells Fargo. “I just feel like they aren’t being transparent with us, and somebody needs to acknowledge this,” the worker stressed.
