Who will moderate the debate?

Welcome to the highly anticipated presidential debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, hosted by ABC News. This event marks the only scheduled debate between the presidential candidates this fall.

Set to take place at the National Constitutional Center in Philadelphia on Tuesday night, the 90-minute debate will be broadcast and streamed by various outlets, including ABC. Unlike previous years, this debate is solely produced by ABC News, with no live audience in attendance.

Who is moderating the debate?

David Muir

David Muir, the host of ABC’s “World News Tonight,” is one of America’s most popular newscasters, leading the evening news ratings for eight years. Renowned for his apolitical image, Muir will be facing his largest audience yet in a politically charged environment.

Linsey Davis

Linsey Davis, the host of ABC’s nightly streaming newscast, will also be moderating the debate alongside Muir. Having filled in for him in the past, Davis brings her experience from previous presidential nominating debates to the table.

The network has specified that Muir and Davis will be the sole questioners, ensuring a structured and controlled debate format.

The ABC debate was set last spring, anticipating President Joe Biden as the likely Democratic nominee. Despite challenges and uncertainties, both Harris and Trump have given the green light for the event to proceed, promising an engaging and informative debate.
