Attention all Lucid platform bed owners! A massive recall has been issued for nearly 138,000 beds sold at popular retailers like Amazon and Walmart across the U.S. and Canada. The beds are being recalled due to a dangerous defect that could cause them to collapse, posing serious fall and injury risks.
The Utah-based importer, CVB Inc., is recalling Lucid platform beds with upholstered square tufted headboards. These beds have been found to sag, break, or collapse during use, leading to potential accidents and injuries.
According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada, there have been 245 incidents of bed failures in the U.S., resulting in 18 injuries. In Canada, 11 reports of bed failures have been documented, with no additional injuries.
If you own one of the recalled beds, which were manufactured between 2019 and 2021, it is crucial to stop using it immediately. Contact Lucid to receive a free replacement frame for your bed.
The recalled beds were sold through various retailers, including Amazon, Walmart, Bed Bath & Beyond, and more. Approximately 137,000 beds were sold in the U.S. and 890 in Canada, posing a significant safety concern for customers.
If you’re unsure if your bed is part of the recall, look for a white law label on the back of the headboard with the manufacturer’s information. For replacement instructions and more information, visit Lucid’s recall page.
