Former Arizona Cardinals Player Adrian Wilson’s Domestic Violence Charges Reduced
Former Arizona Cardinals safety and front office executive Adrian Wilson recently had two of the three domestic violence charges against him dropped in a court hearing held in Scottsdale, Arizona. The remaining charge has been deferred for the time being.
Wilson was arrested earlier this summer after reports of a domestic disturbance with his wife. The initial charges he faced included assault, criminal property damage, and disorderly conduct.
However, court records show that the assault and property damage charges were dismissed. Wilson has entered into a diversion agreement regarding the disorderly conduct charge, with expectations that it will also be dismissed in due course.
In a statement posted on social media, Wilson expressed relief at the dropped charges, stating, “After learning there was absolutely no physical altercation, two of the three misdemeanor charges filed by the Scottsdale City Attorney’s Office were dismissed.”
Here’s my public statement after yesterday’s court hearing. 2 of 3 charges DISMISSED! 3rd will be soon. Thank you to all who supported my family and me during this difficult time. #Grateful @espn @nfl @theobserver @AZSports @sinow @AP September 4, 2024
According to police reports, officers responded to a disturbance involving Wilson on June 1, where he was alleged to have thrown and broken items during a fight. He later retrieved a firearm from a safe, drove around, then returned home to speak to police about personal issues before being arrested and taken to jail.
Following his recent court appearance on September 3, Wilson expressed remorse, stating, “With the hearing behind me, I can now begin the process of healing from this very unfortunate incident and the embarrassment it has brought to my family and me. I deeply regret my actions on June 1 and recommit to being a better person and father.”
