Authorities in Phoenix have reported a heartbreaking incident involving an ATV crash that claimed the life of a 17-year-old girl. The Phoenix Police Department revealed that the tragic crash occurred in the early hours of Monday morning, around 4 a.m., near 47th Avenue and Beardsley Road.
The victim, identified as 17-year-old Edith Ochoa, was the driver of the 2017 Canam ATV involved in the crash.
Additionally, a 20-year-old man who was a passenger on the ATV sustained injuries as well. He is currently receiving treatment at a local hospital, with authorities confirming that his injuries are non-life-threatening.
According to police reports, the ATV was the only vehicle involved in the incident, and investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
Details surrounding the possibility of impairment on the part of the driver are also being investigated, as mentioned in a statement released by the police department.
