Welcome to the Mesa Family Resource Center
The city of Mesa has opened a new family resource center at the Mesa Public Library. The Mesa Family Resource Center, located on the bottom floor of the library, is a $1.2 million project funded by the state agency First Things First. This center is not only for Mesa residents; it offers services to families with children from birth to age five.
With a grant of $300,000 each year for four years, the city of Mesa aims to cover staffing and operations of the center. Mayor John Giles emphasized the importance of providing resources for parents and creating a space where nonprofits, community organizations, and faith-based groups can come together for the benefit of children in the community.
K. Vilay, regional officer for First Things First, highlighted the critical period of brain development between birth and age five. The center will focus on educational resources to support early learning programs, childcare, preschool, and children’s health.
Parents like Celeste Smith and Josh Reiangel appreciate the space the resource center provides for their children. While Smith values the air-conditioned and free environment for her son to play, Reiangel sees the center as a great opportunity for his children to interact with others and develop socially.
Whether you need diapers, baby formula, educational resources, or a safe play space for your kids, the Mesa Family Resource Center is here to support families in the community. Come visit us and be a part of creating a great place for children to learn and grow!
