Kelsey Garner: A Passion for Vintage Custom Clothing

Kelsey Garner is a master at her craft, creating vibrant and vintage clothing that is truly one-of-a-kind. Each outfit is custom made by hand, with some passion projects taking up to 14 hours to complete.

Garner has been a seamstress for over a decade and is the proud owner of K.S. Garner in Downtown Phoenix. Her specialty lies in vintage clothing that is “upcycled” and tailored to fit any figure perfectly.

“That is my passion, making clothes that fit people so that they don’t feel like they are out of place,” Garner said.

With a social media following of over 100,000, Garner’s unique designs have garnered widespread attention.

However, amidst her success, Garner faced a devastating setback when her shop was targeted by thieves. Custom-designed clothes, gear, and even sentimental items like her vintage sewing machine were stolen, totaling approximately $20,000 in losses.

Facing the prospect of shutting down her business, Garner’s friends launched a GoFundMe campaign to assist her in recovering from the theft. In just three days, the campaign raised nearly $13,000, providing Garner with renewed hope.

Grateful for the outpouring of support, Garner expressed, “I have cried so many tears just in awe, because I’ve been scared, and I have people steal from me…but then I see the best that people can be.”

While the stolen items have yet to be recovered, Garner remains resilient thanks to the generosity of her community. She plans to use part of the GoFundMe funds to install a security camera system at her workshop to prevent future incidents.
