Tragedy struck in Pima County in March when a 4-year-old child died under suspicious circumstances, sparking an investigation by the Pima County Sheriff’s Department.
The authorities are seeking to question Nathan A. Peru, 30, in connection with the death of his child. Peru is currently facing criminal charges of vehicle theft and sexual conduct with a minor as the investigation unfolds.
On March 16, 2024, deputies responded to a residence on Flowing Wells Road following reports of a juvenile drowning. Despite their efforts, the child was found unresponsive and later passed away.
As law enforcement delved deeper into the incident, they gathered enough evidence to arrest Peru. However, the father managed to escape arrest by allegedly stealing a vehicle and evading law enforcement.
The whereabouts of Peru are currently unknown, and the PCSD is urging anyone with information about his location to contact 911 or 88-CRIME.
