The Incredible Story of Chris Zwierzynski: Surviving a Fall from Mt. Hood
Chris Zwierzynski, a 55-year-old man from Scottsdale, had a passion for climbing. After turning 50, he set a goal to climb all the highest points in every state. His adventurous spirit led him to tackle the challenging peaks of the western states, where he found the most thrill and excitement.
However, his journey took a dangerous turn when he fell 700 feet while climbing Mt. Hood in Oregon on July 6. Despite sustaining severe injuries, including broken ribs, a broken ankle, and multiple fractures, Chris miraculously survived the fall. Doctors and loved ones described his survival as nothing short of a miracle.
Chris’s wife, Laurie, was shocked and devastated when she received the news of her husband’s accident. She saw him in the hospital, barely recognizable, with swollen eyes, broken bones, and brain bleeds. But through faith and prayer, they both found the strength to overcome this challenging ordeal.
Despite the hardships and physical pain, Chris remains determined to continue his climbing adventures. He is grateful for the support and love he has received from his community and friends. His positive attitude and unwavering faith have been crucial in his recovery process.
Looking ahead, Chris plans to return to Mt. Hood and conquer the peak once again. With the support of guides and his fighting spirit, he believes that anything is possible.
