The Bubble Man of La Jolla Cove: Spreading Joy Despite Obstacles

Meet Sandy Snakenburg, a familiar face at La Jolla Cove known for his enchanting bubble blowing performances. However, this homeless veteran recently faced a surprising obstacle when a San Diego park ranger issued him a citation for his bubbly artistry.

Despite this setback, Sandy, also known as the “Bubble Man,” remains undeterred in his mission to spread joy and magic through bubbles. “Bubbleology is the science, art, and magic of bubbles,” says Sandy, the creator of Bubble World.

For over a decade, Sandy has been delighting people of all ages with his massive bubbles, creating a sense of wonder and happiness wherever he goes. His performances have been described as a way to bring people together, transcending age and differences.

“It made me feel like a kid,” shared Jeremy, reflecting on the joy Sandy’s bubbles brought to him. Inspired by his passion for bubbles, Sandy founded his non-profit organization, Bubble World, using his bubble shows as a means of support. Living in his truck, Sandy relies on tips from his performances to sustain himself.

Despite his struggles as a homeless veteran, Sandy continues to persevere in pursuing his love for bubbles. However, his recent citation for “liquid littering” by park rangers has added a new challenge. Explaining that the residue from his bubbles was perceived as damaging to the grass, Sandy defended himself, citing his compliance with regulations.

While the citation may pose a threat to his performances, Sandy remains steadfast in his resolve to share his joy with the community. “I look at life a bit differently… I’m not gonna let that kill the moment,” he declared, emphasizing his determination to overcome obstacles.

As Sandy navigates through this unexpected hurdle, his commitment to spreading happiness through bubbles serves as a reminder of the transformative power of art and positivity in the face of challenges.

Stay tuned for updates on Sandy’s journey and his unwavering dedication to his craft!
