Hunter Goodman and Ezequiel Tovar shone with home runs, while Ryan Feltner delivered a stellar performance on the mound, earning his first victory at Coors Field in two years. The Rockies’ win marked a significant setback for the Diamondbacks, who are fighting for a spot in the playoffs.

In the game, Tovar continued his impressive form from Monday’s 3-2 victory over Arizona, finishing with three hits and two RBIs. Goodman, who also homered in Monday’s game, added to his tally with his 13th homer of the season off Blake Walston in the seventh inning.

The Rockies’ offense continued to impress with contributions from Jacob Stallings, Jordan Beck, and Brenton Doyle, who all played a role in securing the win. Bud Black also made history by becoming the Rockies’ winningest manager, surpassing Clint Hurdle with his 535th win.

Despite efforts from Christian Walker and Pavin Smith, who both had standout performances for Arizona, the Diamondbacks fell into a tie with the New York Mets for the last two NL wild-card spots, with San Diego leading the pack.

Feltner’s stellar outing on the mound, allowing just one run on five hits in 6 2/3 innings, helped secure the win for the Rockies. Jordan Montgomery, pitching for Arizona, also put in a solid performance, going 4 2/3 innings and conceding three runs on six hits.

In injury news, Lourdes Gurriel Jr. is making progress towards a return for the Diamondbacks, while Antonio Senzatela showed positive signs in his first start for the Rockies after a lengthy rehab from elbow surgery.

Looking ahead, LHP Eduardo Rodriguez will take the mound for the Diamondbacks in the next game against Rockies’ LHP Austin Gomber.
