The Arrest of Nathan Aaron Peru – A Tragic Mystery Unfolds
Back in March, tragedy struck when Nathan Aaron Peru’s 4-year-old daughter died under “suspicious circumstances.” Now, after months of evading authorities, Peru has been arrested in connection to her death.
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department revealed that Peru, 30, was apprehended on August 29. Besides being wanted for questioning over his daughter’s demise, Peru also faces charges of two counts of sexual conduct with a minor child.
The investigation into the tragic incident began on March 16, when deputies responded to a call about a medical emergency involving a child drowning at a home in Pima County. Despite efforts to revive the little girl, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Subsequent inquiries by the Homicide Unit of the Pima County Sheriff’s Department revealed that the child’s death occurred under “suspicious circumstances,” leading to the identification of Nathan Aaron Peru as a person of interest.
Peru managed to evade capture initially, fleeing from law enforcement officers and even stealing a City of Tucson vehicle. However, after five months on the run, he was finally located and taken into custody.
The sheriff department commended the collaborative efforts of multiple agencies, including the PCSD Fugitive Investigations Unit, Criminal Interdiction Unit, Directed Patrol Central, K9 Unit, Traffic Unit, Pima Regional SWAT, PCSD Air Unit, and the U.S. Marshal’s Service, in bringing Peru to justice.
