Exciting Moments in Basketball at the Paris Olympics

Who doesn’t love a good dunk? The men’s basketball games at the Paris Olympics were filled with jaw-dropping moments, from high-flying plays to buzzer-beating shots that had fans on the edge of their seats.

Some standout highlights include Victor Wembanyama’s gravity-defying dunks for France, an impressive quarterfinal dunk by NBA superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo, and a thrilling breakaway shot by local talent Anthony Edwards during the Puerto Rico-US matchup.

Want to relive these epic moments? Watch the highlights here:

But that’s not all – both the men’s and women’s U.S. basketball teams emerged victorious with gold medals at the end of the Games.

The women’s team secured a nail-biting win against France with a final score of 67-66, less than 24 hours after the men’s team also triumphed over France. This historic moment marked the first time in Olympic history that both gold medal games featured the same two teams, adding an extra layer of excitement to the competition.

With this win, the U.S. women extended their impressive streak to 61 consecutive wins in the Olympics, claiming their eighth consecutive gold medal. This achievement surpassed the American men’s program, which held the record with seven consecutive golds from 1936-1968.

It was truly a remarkable display of skill and determination from both the men’s and women’s teams, showcasing the best of American basketball on the world stage. Let’s celebrate their success and continue to be inspired by the incredible athletes who make these unforgettable moments possible.
