Disturbing Discovery Made in Wells Fargo Building in Tempe, Arizona
A 60-year-old woman “clocked in” on Friday to work at a Wells Fargo building in Tempe and never returned home.
Her body was discovered at her desk four days later, according to information released by the Tempe Police Department.
Various sources working in the building have spoken to 12News anonymously out of fear of reprisals. These employees said that Denise Prudhomme was found on the third floor, in a “remote” part of the building.
According to sources, several employees worked in a remote environment and it is unknown how many people were on the third floor in the days following her death.
However, after the weekend, people in the building started to notice a very strong odor.
“On Monday we came to work and were told there was a smell,” shared a source. Workers thought it was a plumbing issue.
Sources said it is hard to believe she wasn’t discovered earlier.
“It really surprises me that no one saw this woman,” expressed an employee.
Multiple sources also told 12News that they are concerned about how the area was cleaned and said no professional cleaning team was called to disinfect the area.
“It generates a lot of anxiety,” said an employee.
“You don’t know whether to be angry or sad; it’s not a family member or someone I knew, but knowing that I work in this building and it’s a company I like to work for and that’s how things are handled, it’s not right.”
The cause of death has not yet been determined. Tempe police said it does not appear to be a crime. They declined an interview request and stated they have already disclosed all the information they can at this time.
Wells Fargo released a new statement saying, in part:
“We are deeply saddened by the loss of our colleague, Denise… we are in touch with her family to ensure they receive the necessary support during this difficult time.”
