Glendale Police Officer Injured in Crash While Responding to Drowning Call
A Glendale police officer sustained minor injuries in a crash while responding to reports of a drowning incident on Friday. The incident occurred at a apartment complex near Maryland and 67th avenues, where a child was found unresponsive in a pool.
As the officers were rushing to the scene with lights and sirens on, another car failed to yield and turned left in front of the officer, resulting in a collision near Glendale and 73rd avenues. While the officer suffered minor injuries, everyone in the other vehicle is expected to be okay.
Fortunately, the child was given CPR and became responsive. The child was then taken to a nearby hospital for precautionary reasons. The officer is expected to recover from the minor injuries sustained in the crash.
