Sports in Phoenix
The city of Phoenix boasts four major professional sports teams – The NFL’s Arizona Cardinals, NBA’s Phoenix Suns, WNBA’s Phoenix Mercury, and MLB’s Arizona Diamondbacks.
The Cardinals play at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, while the Suns and Mercury call the Footprint Center in downtown Phoenix home. Likewise, the Indoor Football League’s Arizona Rattlers compete at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale. Phoenix is also home to the USL’s Phoenix Rising FC, who play at Phoenix Rising FC Stadium.
Phoenix is a hub for major sporting events, hosting the Fiesta Bowl and Guaranteed Rate Bowl for college football, the WM Phoenix Open PGA Tour event, NASCAR events, and Cactus League Spring Training for 15 MLB teams.
