Mohave County Lifts Ban on Open Fire and Fireworks
After months of restrictions, Mohave County has officially lifted the ban on open fire and fireworks that had been in place since June 28. This decision comes after Mohave County Emergency Management Officer Mike Browning declared that fire zones were no longer under emergency conditions, making it safe to lift the ban.
The Bureau of Land Management has also lifted a similar ban on land under its management in Mohave County. The county cited recent precipitation, weather changes, fire ignitions, and behaviors as factors in their decision to lift the ban. The Bureau of Land Management made their decision based on similar factors.
Both bans were lifted at 8 a.m. on September 27, signaling the return to normalcy for residents and visitors in Mohave County. The Mohave County Board of Supervisors is set to discuss formally ratifying the changes at their upcoming meeting on October 7.
