Meet Mikey Conway: The Heart and Soul of Mountain Ridge High School
Introducing 12News’ Champion of the Week! A segment in collaboration with “Champion Air” that shines a spotlight on exceptional individuals in our community. Today, we celebrate Mikey Conway – a remarkable student, talented football player, and a true pillar of strength.
With all A’s in school and a part-time job, Mikey embodies dedication and hard work both on and off the field. But what sets him apart is his compassionate heart. After his Auntie Judy Bowman lost her husband, Mikey stepped in to lend a helping hand, taking care of yard work and managing his expenses with earnings from Cold Beer and Cheeseburgers.
His teammates at Mountain Ridge High School admire his resilience and commitment, not just to football but to his family as well. His unwavering spirit caught the attention of Barry Farrah from Champion Air, who honored Mikey for his exceptional efforts.
During the award ceremony, Farrah praised Mikey’s achievements, saying, “We want to celebrate one of your own out here today, Mikey Conway come on down, you’re a deserving young man, and we’re proud of all your accomplishments.”
Despite his busy schedule, Mikey prioritizes family time and maintains top grades, serving as an inspiration to his peers and fellow athletes. His dedication and spirit make him a true champion in every sense of the word.
