Recent incidents involving threats and false reports at Mesa Public Schools have put multiple juveniles in potential legal trouble. The Mesa Police Department revealed that they have identified individuals who made threatening statements of “shooting up” a school.
The Mesa Police Department announced the identification of individuals involved in these incidents, including a social media threat from September 17 called “The List,” naming Stapley Junior High students. A 13-year-old has been charged for creating the list back in March, facing disruption of educational facility charges, among others currently pending.
Subsequently, on September 19, a new list of names circulated at Stapley Junior High, prompting ongoing investigation by police to identify the suspect involved.
Additional incidents investigated by Mesa police in the past week underline the importance of addressing social media threats and ensuring school safety. This highlights a broader issue across Arizona, where various school districts are actively dealing with similar incidents.
