Marana Police Officer Accused of Breaking into Car While Off Duty

Marana, Ariz. – A Marana Police Officer is currently on administrative leave following allegations of breaking into someone’s car while off duty.

The incident reportedly took place in the early hours of Sunday morning when the officer, who was allegedly intoxicated, was leaving a club on the northwest side.

According to a Facebook post made by the victim, the officer vandalized and ransacked his car, prompting an investigation by the Marana Police Department.

The victim encountered the off-duty officer, identified as Daniel Bonn, after leaving a club called Whiskey Roads in Marana. The man claimed that Bonn broke into his car and displayed aggressive behavior.

The Marana Police Department has taken swift action by placing Officer Bonn on administrative leave, while the Pima County Sheriff’s Office conducts an investigation to determine if any criminal acts were committed.

Captain Tim Brunenkant of the Marana Police Department emphasized the department’s commitment to upholding high standards and conducting a thorough investigation into the allegations.

Police have confirmed that the unidentified third party involved in the incident is not affiliated with the department.

The victim claims his vehicle sustained $800 worth of damages as a result of the incident.

Officer Bonn, who has been a part of the Marana Police Department for five years, will remain on administrative leave until the investigation is complete.
