Chaos in Central Phoenix: Suspect Shoots at Officers After Speeding Incident
Phoenix police officers found themselves in a high-stakes situation on Monday night when they attempted to pull over a speeding car, only to have the occupants open fire on them. Now, a massive search is underway to apprehend the suspects responsible for this brazen attack.
The incident unfolded near Central Avenue and Thomas Road in central Phoenix, with officers noticing two vehicles racing past them around 10:15 p.m. When they tried to stop one of the cars, someone inside fired multiple shots at them. Fortunately, both officers avoided being hit, and their patrol car escaped damage.
The fleeing vehicle eventually came to a halt near Second Street and Catalina Drive, where several individuals fled on foot. The police are currently scouring the area in pursuit of these suspects, with one person already in custody and others believed to be at large.
