Suspect Booked into Jail
The Mesa Police Department reported that Jason Greene has been booked into jail following the shooting incident near 48th Street and Brown Road at around 8 p.m.
Details of the Incident
Upon responding to reports of a shooting in the neighborhood, officers discovered a man in his 40s who had been fatally shot, although the victim has not yet been identified.
Court records revealed conflicting statements from Greene, initially claiming self-defense against a stranger, but later admitting to knowing the victim and engaging in an altercation that led to the fatal shooting.
It was disclosed that alcohol was involved in the incident, with Greene allegedly consuming a significant amount of alcohol prior to the confrontation.
