Apartment Fire Leaves Man Severely Injured in Phoenix
A devastating apartment fire in Phoenix on Tuesday night has left one man severely injured and multiple people displaced from their homes, according to the city fire department.
Firefighters responded to the inferno near Thunderbird Road and 19th Avenue in north Phoenix around 10 p.m. Flames were spotted coming from the first floor of a two-story apartment, prompting immediate search-and-rescue efforts.
During the search, firefighters discovered an adult man unconscious and not breathing inside the apartment. He was quickly evacuated and rushed to the hospital in “extremely critical condition,” said Phoenix Fire Department Captain Todd Keller.
The fire affected two units, and authorities are currently working to determine the total number of people who will be displaced as a result of the devastation. Fortunately, no firefighters sustained injuries during the incident.
