Authorities have closed off the area near 16th Street and Camelback Road in central Phoenix as they investigate a fatal hit and run incident, according to officials.

The Phoenix Police Department reported that a man lost his life in the tragic accident. Police officers rushed to the scene following reports of a crash resulting in severe injuries. Unfortunately, the man succumbed to his injuries.

It was revealed that the driver responsible for the accident fled the scene before law enforcement arrived.

The area remains cordoned off as police conduct their investigation, and no further details have been released at this time.
