According to reports from Texas DPS, 46-year-old Brandon Brown of Corpus Christi has tragically passed away after being involved in a head-on collision. Brown, who had served as a Border Patrol agent for almost 21 years, was on his way to work when the crash occurred.
The collision, which involved another driver named Eva Rosa of Bishop, took place on FM 70 near County Road 67. Both drivers were trapped in their vehicles before emergency personnel arrived on the scene. Despite being in critical condition, Brown was transported to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Rosa, the other driver involved in the crash, sustained injuries but was reported to be alert and talking after being extracted from her vehicle. The incident, which occurred around 8:37 p.m., resulted in the closure of both east and westbound lanes while authorities investigated the scene.
Multiple agencies, including Nueces County Constable Pct.3 Deputies, ESD 3 fire department, and the Nueces County Sheriff’s Office, were on site to assist with the investigation. The Corpus Christi Highway Patrol Office is currently looking into the details surrounding the crash.
