Linda Ronstadt Criticizes Trump Rally at Linda Ronstadt Music Hall
Linda Ronstadt, the Arizona-born singer, took to Instagram to express her strong disapproval of the upcoming rally by former President Donald Trump at the Linda Ronstadt Music Hall in Tucson.
On Wednesday, Ronstadt posted a statement on Instagram criticizing Trump’s visit to her hometown of Tucson. Trump was scheduled to give a speech at the Linda Ronstadt Music Hall, also known as the Tucson Music Hall.
Ronstadt, who now resides in San Francisco, felt personally connected to the venue and wrote, “Given that the building bears my name, I need to say something.”
Expressing her sadness, Ronstadt condemned Trump’s visit, citing his divisive policies and rhetoric. She specifically called out his treatment of women, immigrants, people of color, and his overall behavior as president.
Having grown up in Tucson, Ronstadt also voiced her discontent with the Trump administration’s border policies, especially the separation of migrant families seeking asylum. She highlighted the humanitarian crisis caused by these actions, referring to them as torture.
Joining a growing list of female celebrities speaking out against Trump, Linda Ronstadt’s statement adds to the momentum of public figures urging people to vote. Previously, artists like Stevie Nicks from Phoenix have encouraged fans to support candidates who align with their values and beliefs.
Trump’s rally in Tucson marked his second visit to Arizona in less than a month, with a focus on the economy and rising housing costs. His running mate, JD Vance, also made an appearance in Mesa to address similar issues.
