While in pursuit of his fourth Olympic gold medal in Paris, Suns superstar Kevin Durant added another achievement to his resume – becoming a minority owner of Paris Saint-Germain, one of France’s top soccer clubs.
During his visit to PSG’s training facility in Poissy, France, Durant not only interacted with the team’s players and management but also made a significant investment in the club through his firm, Boardroom Sports Holdings, LLC. The acquisition was facilitated by Arctos Sports Partners, an American private investment firm that acquired a stake in PSG in 2023.
PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaïfi expressed his delight in welcoming Durant to the PSG family, highlighting the basketball star’s influence as both an athlete and investor. This move solidifies Durant’s commitment to sports and entertainment, aligning with PSG’s values and vision.
Although the club has not made an official announcement regarding Durant’s ownership, the news was shared on social media by Boardroom Sports Holdings. This isn’t the first time Durant has crossed paths with PSG, having visited their home stadium, Parc des Princes, in 2015.
Durant joins a list of American athletes and celebrities who have ventured into European soccer ownership, adding to the global appeal of these renowned clubs. His involvement in PSG signifies a growing trend of sports personalities diversifying their portfolios and exploring new opportunities in the realm of sports ownership.
