Riot at Juvenile Behavior Facility in North Phoenix: Latest Details

The peaceful environment at a juvenile behavior facility near Black Canyon Highway and Rose Garden Lane in north Phoenix was shattered when a riot broke out. Here are the latest details on the incident.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, an unknown number of juveniles were hospitalized, and several others were arrested after officers intervened using pepper balls to quell the riot.

Police responded to a call from the facility near Black Canyon Highway and Rose Garden Lane around 8 p.m. on Saturday after staff reported the riot.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers took action with pepper balls to subdue the “juvenile aggressors” and bring an end to the chaos.

Several juveniles were taken into custody and will face charges related to the riot. Additionally, some juveniles were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of irritation caused by the pepper balls’ Pava powder, although the exact number was not disclosed by the police.

As this story continues to develop, more details will be provided as they become available.
